These Terms of Use are the contract between you and Koit Tecnologia Ltda. for using the Koit app on iPhone and Android. They apply together with the Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your data, and the Child Safety Policy.
In a nutshell
- Koit is a personal journal for organizing your love life: the people you meet, the dates you arrange and what you want to remember.
- Only people aged 18 or over may use it.
- In the app, what you record is seen only by you and by the trusted friends you choose, to the extent you choose.
- The free plan has ads. Koit Pro removes the ads and unlocks photos.
- You can delete your account in the app whenever you want.

1. Who we are and what Koit is
Koit is provided by Koit Tecnologia Ltda., CNPJ 53.815.531/0001-07, with its registered office at Av. Paulista, 1106, Sala 01, Andar 16, CEP 01310-914, São Paulo/SP, Brazil (“Koit”, “we”).
Koit is a notes and personal organization app. With it you record the people you met on your own, plan and record the dates you arranged yourself, note details, expenses and memories and, if you want, share some dates with trusted friends.
Koit does not make matches. It does not suggest, introduce or connect people, and it has no public profiles, people discovery or messaging between users. For this reason, under Brazilian law, Koit is not a dating service (Decree No. 12,880/2026, art. 15, § 1, item X).
Koit is for personal use. Do not use the app for professional, commercial or service-provision purposes.
2. Acceptance and changes to these Terms
To create an account, you check that you accept these Terms and the Privacy Policy. Without this acceptance you cannot use Koit.
We may change these Terms to keep up with the app, the law or our business. Each version has its own identifier. When a change is relevant, the app shows the new version and asks for your acceptance before you continue. If you do not agree, you can delete your account (section 13). Corrections that do not change your rights or obligations, such as an updated contact or a typo, are published on the website with the new date.
3. Who can use Koit
To use Koit, you declare that:
- you are 18 or older and a natural person;
- you can enter into contracts;
- you have never been convicted of a sexual crime against a child or adolescent;
- you have not had a Koit account closed for violating these Terms;
- you are not in a country subject to a United States government embargo, nor on any list of prohibited or restricted parties of that government.
Koit is not offered in the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland. The language of our website does not indicate that the app is available in a country.
Access to Koit may depend on an invitation or a waiting list while the app is in its testing phase.
4. Your account
You can create your account with email and password, with Google or, on iPhone, with Apple. At sign-up we ask for your name and date of birth. Email-and-password accounts also register a phone number, which receives the two-step verification code.
Your account is personal: do not share your account or your access. Keep your details correct and your credentials secure. If you suspect misuse, change your password and write to support@koitapp.com.
You can protect Koit on your device with a PIN and biometrics, in Account → Settings → App lock and privacy. This lock stops someone holding your phone from opening the app without your permission, but it is not data encryption.
In Account → Settings → App permissions, you can review at any time the device access Koit uses (contacts, camera, photos and, on iPhone, tracking for ads), with the status of each one. From there you grant access or go straight to your device settings to change or revoke it. Notifications are in Account → Settings → Notifications.
5. Rules of conduct
Use Koit with respect for the people you record and the people you relate to. You may not use Koit to:
- coerce or pressure anyone into doing anything against their will, by physical, emotional or sexual means;
- ignore boundaries someone has set, insisting on something they refused;
- plan or record assaults, threats, humiliation or any form of violence;
- induce anyone to consume alcohol or drugs, or put other people at risk;
- manipulate anyone to gain advantage or control;
- stalk, monitor or expose anyone, or disclose outside the app what you recorded about another person;
- store illegal content, content that infringes copyright, nudity, explicit violence or content that promotes crimes;
- store banking or payment data, yours or other people’s (card numbers, accounts, Pix keys);
- try to access other people’s accounts or data, harm the app or our servers, or circumvent our protections.
This list is not exhaustive: any illegal use or use that harms other people is also prohibited.
Koit is an organization app and does not accompany your dates. Look after your safety: prefer public places, watch for strange behavior and let people you trust know where you are. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
Koit does not provide medical, psychological or therapeutic advice. If your relationships are causing you distress, seek professional support.
6. Child safety
Koit is only for people aged 18 or over. It is prohibited to:
- use Koit if you are under 18;
- record in Koit any person under 18, or dates, notes or photos involving them, including from when a person who is now an adult was a minor;
- use Koit for any form of sexual abuse or exploitation of children and adolescents, including child sexual abuse material, grooming, sextortion, sexualization and trafficking.
When we learn of a violation, we may remove the content, close the accounts involved and report the case to the authorities, as the law requires, preserving what the law requires us to preserve. The definitions, reporting channels and what we do in each case are in the Child Safety Policy.
7. People you record
In Koit you record information about other people: names, contact details, social media, birthdays, likes, dates and notes. These people do not need to use Koit and are not notified by the app.
When you record someone, you agree to:
- record only people aged 18 or over;
- keep only what you have a legitimate reason to keep about your own life, without obtaining data unlawfully;
- not use what you recorded to expose, stalk or harm anyone, nor disclose it outside the app.
A recorded person may ask us, based on the law, to correct or remove the record about them. In such cases, and when the law requires, we may edit or remove records from your account. The Privacy Policy explains how we handle this data.
8. Trusted friends and Dating Mode
You can invite up to three trusted friends by phone number. The invitation only takes effect after the friend, who also needs to use Koit, accepts. You and your friend can each remove the link at any time.
When planning a date, you choose whether it is shared with your trusted friends. If you already have trusted friends, a new date is marked as shared, and you can unmark it. Private dates are not shared.
For a shared date, your trusted friends see when and where it takes place, the check-in, the check-out and the updates you send. If a friend asks to see the details, they confirm the request, you are notified and they see the date’s title, the full address and information about the person you are meeting: name, age, phone, Instagram, job, company and college, whenever you have recorded them. Your friends never see your photos or notes. The date stays visible to them for a limited time after it ends.
In Dating Mode you can let your trusted friends know how you are: all good, call me, discomfort or emergency. These updates reach your friends as notifications. Koit does not call the police, an ambulance or any other emergency service, and does not guarantee that the notification will arrive or that someone will respond: it depends on the internet, device settings and people. If you are in danger, call your local emergency number.
When you share a date, you pass information about the other person to your friends. Do so responsibly.
9. Your content
What you record in Koit remains yours. You are responsible for what you record and declare that you have the right to keep that content.
For Koit to work, you give us a free, non-exclusive license, valid while the content is in your account, to host, store, process and display your content to you and to whoever you choose to share it with. This license extends to the service providers that operate Koit on our behalf, only to that extent.
Koit studies and content. We may also combine information from many users, in aggregated and anonymized form, to improve the app, conduct market research and publish studies and insights, for example on the Koit blog. One example: finding out which type of place people choose most for a date, such as a bar, restaurant or cinema, and on which days and at what times. These results never identify you, the people you record or any particular date, and they are only published when they cover enough people that no one can be recognized.
We do not sell your content or use it for ads.
We may remove content that violates these Terms or the law (section 12).
10. Koit Pro
Koit has a free plan, with ads, and the Koit Pro subscription, which removes ads and unlocks photos on your profile, contacts and dates. Before you subscribe, the app shows the price and the period.
The subscription is sold and billed by the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android), under the store’s rules:
- Renewal. The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
- Cancellation. Cancel at any time in the subscriptions of your Apple or Google account. The benefits continue until the end of the period already paid.
- Deleting your account does not cancel the subscription. Cancel in the store before deleting your account.
- Refunds. Refund requests and billing disputes go to Apple or Google, under each store’s rules. Because billing is done by the store, Koit does not process refunds directly.
- Price. If the price changes, the store notifies you and, when its rules require, asks for your agreement before renewal.
- End of subscription. When the subscription ends, ads come back, the photos you already saved remain visible and you cannot add or replace photos.
A purchase can only be linked to one Koit account.
11. Ads
The free plan shows ads, labeled as such, served by Google AdMob. We are not responsible for the content of the ads or for advertisers’ products. How ads use data, and the choices you have, is explained in the Privacy Policy.
12. Reports, measures and appeals
How to report. To report content or conduct that violates these Terms or the law, including criminal content, write to legal@koitapp.com. Describe what happened and how to identify the account or the content, without sending images. For child safety, also follow the Child Safety Policy. We confirm receipt.
What we may do. Depending on severity, we may warn the user, remove content, temporarily suspend the account, close the account and report the case to the authorities.
Notice and appeal. When we apply a measure, we notify the user and give the reason, unless the law or an investigation prevents it. Anyone who disagrees can reply to the notice or write to legal@koitapp.com with their reasons. The decision is reviewed and we communicate the outcome. We also tell the person who reported the outcome of the report, when they identify themselves. Time limits are those set by applicable law.
Abusive use. False reports or reports made to harm someone also violate these Terms.
Transparency. In accordance with art. 20-A of Decree No. 8,771/2016, added by Decree No. 12,975/2026, which regulates Brazil’s Internet Civil Framework (Law No. 12,965/2014), we publish once a year, on our website, a transparency report on the out-of-court notices received, the measures applied, the appeals, the ads and the boosted content (Koit does not offer paid boosting). The first, covering 2026, comes out in 2027.
13. Termination
By you. You can delete your account at any time in Account → Settings → Delete Account. For 30 days you can reactivate it by signing in to the app. After that, the account is closed and we delete your data within the limits allowed by law, as explained in the Privacy Policy. Cancel your store subscription first, if you have one.
By us. We may suspend or close an account when:
- these Terms, the Child Safety Policy or the law are violated;
- there is a risk to the safety of people, other users or Koit;
- an authority or the law requires it;
- the person is not allowed to use Koit (section 3);
- the account has not been accessed for more than 12 months. In this case, we may notify you beforehand at your registered email.
If we decide to shut down Koit, we will give at least 30 days’ notice.
14. Changes to the service
Koit is evolving. We may create, change or remove features, including in test versions, and change technical requirements, always seeking to reduce the impact on you. Test features may have bugs.
15. Intellectual property and trademarks
The app, the Koit brand, the design, the texts and the software belong to Koit Tecnologia Ltda. or are used with authorization. You receive a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to use the app under these Terms. Do not copy, modify, distribute or exploit the app without authorization.

Apple, the Apple logo, iPhone and App Store are trademarks of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries. Google Play and the Google Play logo are trademarks of Google LLC.
16. Third-party services
Koit works with third-party services, such as app stores, Google and Apple sign-in, Google’s infrastructure and your device, and may open links to other apps, such as maps and social networks. You must also follow the terms of those services. We are not responsible for the content or operation of third-party services you access from Koit.
Maps and directions. Koit does not use GPS or your device’s location. When you ask for directions to a date’s location, Koit opens the maps or transportation app you choose, with the address you typed, and that app may use your location under its own rules. The route is a suggestion, not a guarantee: check the address, prefer routes and places you know or that seem safe, and use your own judgment about where you are going.
17. Warranties and liability
Koit is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work to make it run well and securely, but we do not guarantee that it will run without interruptions or errors, or that no unauthorized access will ever happen. We are not responsible for what happens outside the app, such as dates, conversations on other networks and personal decisions.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damages, lost profits or lost opportunities, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for Koit Pro in the 12 months before the event.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that the law does not allow to be excluded or limited, nor takes away rights that consumer protection law guarantees you.
18. iPhone users
If you downloaded Koit from the App Store:
- These Terms are a contract between you and Koit, not with Apple Inc. (“Apple”). Koit, not Apple, is solely responsible for the app and its content.
- The license is non-transferable and applies to Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. The app may also be used by other accounts associated with yours through Family Sharing or volume purchasing.
- Koit is solely responsible for maintenance and support of the app. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support.
- If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price of the app, if any. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation, and any other claims related to a warranty are Koit’s responsibility.
- Koit, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or third parties relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to conform to any legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection or privacy law.
- If a third party claims that the app or your use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, Koit, not Apple, is responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement and discharge of that claim.
- You declare that you comply with item 5 of section 3 (United States government embargoes and lists).
- Our contact details are in section 21.
- You must comply with applicable third-party terms when using the app.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, once you accept them, may enforce them against you.
19. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by Brazilian law. If we disagree, the preferred way to resolve it is mediation, seated in São Paulo/SP, Brazil, which can be done remotely. First, write to legal@koitapp.com: many problems are solved that way.
If you are a consumer in Brazil, nothing in these Terms limits your rights under the Brazilian Consumer Protection Code, including the right to sue in your place of residence and to turn to consumer protection agencies. If you live outside Brazil, the consumer protection rules of your country that cannot be waived by contract continue to apply.
20. General provisions
- Entire agreement. These Terms, the Privacy Policy and the Child Safety Policy form the entire agreement between you and Koit regarding the app.
- Severability. If a clause is held invalid, the others remain in force.
- No waiver. If we do not enforce a rule at some point, this does not mean we waive it.
- Assignment. In a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, we may transfer these Terms to the successor company, which assumes the same obligations to you. We will let you know.
- Independence. These Terms do not create a partnership, employment or agency relationship between you and Koit.
- Communications. We contact you through the app, notifications and your registered email. You contact Koit at the email addresses in section 21.
- Language. If translations differ, the Portuguese version prevails for people living in Brazil and the English version for people living outside Brazil. In Filipino, the English text applies.
