This policy explains how Koit, operated by Koit Tecnologia Ltda., keeps people under 18 out of the app and responds to child sexual abuse and exploitation. It applies to the Koit app for iPhone and Android and to koitapp.com.
1. Zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation
Koit prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in any form, including:
- child sexual abuse material (CSAM): any image, video or other content that sexually depicts a person under 18;
- grooming: building contact or trust with a minor for sexual purposes;
- sextortion: threatening to share sexual images of someone, or demanding them, to get more images, money or anything else;
- sexualizing or trafficking minors, or arranging or recording sexual or romantic contact with them.
When we learn of such content or conduct, we act as described in section 8.
2. Koit is for adults only
Koit is a private journal for adults 18 and older. You may not download, sign up for or use Koit if you are under 18.
3. Under Brazilian law, Koit is not a dating service
Brazilian law lists, among the services prohibited to children and adolescents, “services or applications whose main purpose is to arrange meetings or to start relationships of a sexual nature” (Decree No. 12,880/2026, art. 15, § 1, item X, which regulates Law No. 15,211/2025, the Digital Statute of Children and Adolescents; free translation).
Under Brazilian law, Koit is not such a service, because Koit does not make matches. It doesn’t suggest, introduce or connect people to each other: there are no profiles for other users to find, and no discovery, swiping or messaging between users. The people you record in Koit are people you met on your own, outside the app, and the dates you log are dates you arranged yourself. Koit is a private journal where you organize your own dating life.
Even so, we restrict Koit to adults 18 and older, by our own choice.
4. No records about minors
You may not record in Koit anyone who is under 18, nor dates, notes or photos involving them. This also applies to people who were under 18 at the time of what you record, even if they are adults today.
When you enter a contact’s birthday or age, Koit doesn’t accept one under 18.
5. How we keep minors out
- Koit is rated 18+ on the App Store.
- Before using Koit, you accept the Terms of Use, which state that Koit is for adults only.
- When you sign up, we ask for your date of birth and don’t accept anyone under 18.
- We don’t direct our marketing at minors: our advertising campaigns are limited to adults 18 and older.
6. What other people can see
Koit has no public profiles, matching or messaging between users. Your photos are visible only to you. The only people who see anything from your account are up to three trusted friends you choose, and they see only the upcoming dates you decide to share, never your photos or notes.
7. How to report
Write to legal@koitapp.com. You don’t have to identify yourself. If you are asking us to remove content under Brazilian law, we need to know who is making the request.

- Brazil: SaferNet (denunciar.org.br) or Disque 100 (dial 100);
- United States: NCMEC’s CyberTipline (report.cybertip.org or 1-800-843-5678);
- Philippines: the 1343 Actionline (dial 1343, or 1343actionline.ph);
- Singapore: the Online Safety Commission (osc.gov.sg) or the police;
- Argentina, Chile, Malaysia and Uruguay: the police or the public prosecutor’s office;
- anywhere else: your local police.
8. What we do when we receive a report
When we receive a report or otherwise learn of a possible violation, we review it and may disable the accounts involved.
If we find child sexual abuse material or signs of grooming, exploitation or trafficking, we report it to the competent authorities as the law requires, and we don’t delete information that the law requires us to preserve for an investigation.
We comply with removal orders from competent authorities, including Singapore’s Online Safety Commission.
9. Accounts of minors
If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we close it and delete its data, except what the law requires us to keep.

10. Emergencies
If anyone’s physical or psychological safety is at imminent risk, regardless of age, call your local emergency number or contact the local authorities right away.

- Malaysia: the Sexual Offences against Children Act 2017;
- and the child-protection and criminal laws of the other countries where Koit is available, including Argentina, Chile and Uruguay.
